My personal learning goal for the Citizen standard is to encourage and support digital citizenship. I want to encourage my students to have a curiosity about learning new things but I also want them to evaluate their sources and the digital tools around them so that they can identify what is legit and what is not. This connects to the standard 2.3.b that says “Educators foster digital literacy by encouraging curiosity, reflection, and the critical evaluation of digital resources”. I will be show this evidence in my portfolio by creating a poster that I can hang in my future classroom to give my students guidelines about their digital citizenship and the things that they should and shouldn’t be doing. This will help me in my future teaching by creating a safe classroom where my students know about their digital citizenship and how to be a good digital citizen.
